The good news is, there are many safer alternatives on the market these days. But sometimes they can be pricey. If you’re on a budget, why not make your own lipstick?

That’s right! You can easily make your own lovely shades of lipstick using all-natural and non-toxic ingredients such as coconut oil, beeswax, and crayons! Yep, the kind kids color with… Many (though not all) crayons are non-toxic, so that if kids end up eating them, they won’t be harmed.*  And you can have fun mixing and creating your own color shades!

* Be sure to choose a crayon with all-natural ingredients, such as beeswax, carnauba wax, soy wax, and mineral pigments, and remember that although they are non-toxic, crayons have not been professionally tested for cosmetic use.
