Sometimes you want dessert without the hassle of baking an entire cake – or heating up the kitchen on a hot summer day! If you’re craving something sweet after dinner but don’t feel like baking, this Single-Serving Double Chocolate Chip Mug Cake from Lisa Steele over at Fresh Eggs Daily is the perfect solution!
What makes this recipe so appealing is its simplicity. It comes together in just minutes using pantry staples you likely already have on hand. Even better, it’s incredibly easy to scale up if you’re serving more than one person. Make one, two, or a dozen—whatever your sweet tooth demands!
Rich cocoa powder and melty chocolate chips create a decadent chocolate flavor, while a scoop of vanilla ice cream takes this easy dessert to the next level. (You can also make this in the oven if you don’t have, or don’t want to use, a microwave – see oven instructions below.)
