[Foodie Friday Recipe] Healthy Green 3-Berry Smoothie

Start off the New Year on the right foot with this healthy green 3-berry smoothie recipe – even the kids will love it!

As we move forward into a new year, putting the excesses of the holidays behind us, it’s a great time to make a resolution to eat cleaner and healthier this year. You may even want to start by cleansing and detoxifying your bodily systems by going on a temporary cleanse diet and avoiding all unhealthy foods, including sugars, dairy, meat, and/or gluten.

The healthy smoothie recipe below makes a great breakfast or snack idea for those who are detoxing or just want a clean, healthy breakfast idea. With the addition of berries, even the kids will enjoy this one, and it’s a great way to get more veggies into their diet!

Healthy Green 3-Berry Smoothie Recipe

(Makes 6 servings.)

Ingredients:

  • 2 C water
  • 2 C baby spinach
  • 2 medium bananas, frozen
  • 1 C strawberries, frozen
  • 1 C three-berry mix, frozen (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or marionberries)
  • 1-2 drops liquid stevia, or to taste

Instructions:

  1. Blend water and spinach together until smooth.
  2. Add in remaining ingredients, a cup at a time, blending until smooth between each one. Drink immediately.
