[Foodie Friday Recipe] Cleansing & Immune-Boosting Kale Salad

Winter is traditionally a time for heavier food, and while we all enjoy a hearty, warm meal during cold weather, as spring draws closer, you may find yourself starting to crave fresh, green vegetables. This fresh and delicious kale salad recipe is a great way to cleanse and purify your system after the heavy and hearty foods of wintertime.
This also makes a great healthy lunch – just add a protein of your choice for a full meal that’s packed with important nutrients! Not only can it help you detoxify, but it may even give your immune system some support.
The homemade dressing leaves out all the sugars and other crap you’ll find in most storebought salad dressings, while adding tons of flavor, immune-boosting ingredients like garlic and ginger, and healthy fat. The salad itself is filled with nutritional powerhouse superfood ingredients like broccoli, red cabbage, walnuts, and of course, kale.
Cleansing Kale Salad Recipe
For the dressing:
- 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger (minced)
- 1 teaspoon of rosemary
- 1 teaspoon of raw honey
- A pinch of cayenne
- 1 tablespoon of salt
For the salad:
- 2 cups organic kale (chopped)
- 2 cups organic red cabbage (shredded)
- 2 cups organic broccoli (chopped)
- 2 carrots (shredded)
- 1 bell pepper (diced)
- 2 avocados (diced)
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1) Add all dressing ingredients to a medium-sized blender and process until the contents are fully integrated.
2) Slice up all the veggies and herbs, per the instructions above.
3) Put everything into a salad bowl and toss it together.
