[Foodie Friday Recipe] Anti-Aging Tropical Turmeric Smoothie

This tropical smoothie is filled with delicious superfoods that boast anti-inflammatory and anti-aging health properties!
Turmeric is one of the most highly-touted natural health supplements today due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric contains curcumin, which is often named a “superfood” and can be found in numerous supplement formulas and healing food recipes. Besides being an anti-inflammatory, studies have found that curcumin may also have anti-cancer, anti-arthritic, antiviral, antifungal and immune-boosting effects – all of which makes it a great way to help fight the signs and symptoms of aging.
Today’s recipe from Dr. Al Sears is packed with healthy superfoods including turmeric, mango, ginger, and more. Not only do all of these foods boast amazing health benefits, but the resulting smoothie is absolutely delicious! Creamy, sweet, and filled with zesty flavors, this smoothie will quickly become a favorite – both for your taste buds and your body.
Tropical Turmeric Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 blood or navel orange (flesh only)
- 1 tablespoon shelled raw hemp seeds
- 1 large carrot, coarsely chopped
- ¾ teaspoon grated ginger
- ½ cup mango chunks (I freeze mine first)
- 1½ teaspoons finely grated peeled turmeric
- 4 cup sliced banana
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 cup coconut water
- Pinch of sea salt
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If using fresh mango that hasn’t been frozen, you may need to add ice. If it’s too thick, increase coconut water until it reaches the right consistency. Enjoy!
