Want to live longer? Eating plenty of healthy and anti-aging foods is one way to improve your odds. This week, we’ve got a tasty longevity tea recipe for you that is not only enjoyable to drink, but may also have anti-aging properties. It only takes a few minutes to make, and you should be able to find all of the ingredients quite easily at your local grocery store.

This health-boosting tea features holy basil – an herb often used in Ayurvedic medicine to promote overall health and increase longevity. This tea has been used for thousands of years throughout Asia and the Middle East, and it is believed to balance the body’s energy centers as well as improving physical health. Modern science has found that this herb is particularly helpful in balancing the hormones – which are closely related to longevity. It is also rich in antioxidants, helps with detoxification, regulates the adrenal system to reduce stress, and may support heart health. No wonder it is associated with living a longer life!

Holy Basil Longevity Tea Recipe

Makes 1 serving.


  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/3 tsp green cardamom, crushed
  • 1-2 tsp of tulsi (holy basil)
  • Raw honey to taste


  • Put all ingredients in a small pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Strain into a mug or cup and enjoy hot or over ice.
  • Optional: Add a bit of whole milk or oat milk for more of a chai flavor.
