How To Detox Your Body Naturally

If you have contemplated trying a detox program, but were scared away by the thought of having to drink a bunch of nasty potions or starve yourself for a week, maybe you should try a natural detox instead.
Detoxing your body is a great way to feel better, improve your skin and overall health, cleanse your body of toxins, have more energy, and possibly even lose some weight. Detoxing naturally is a gentle and safe way to do this, usually involving just food, water, and other natural methods.
Here are a few simple and natural ways to detox.
1.) Always Start With Water
There is no more natural way to detox your body than using water. You can do this both by consuming more water and using water on your skin and hair. Most of your body is made up of water, so it makes sense that hydrating yourself properly is going to help exponentially. Start by reducing other drinks throughout the day and replacing them with water. Fruit and vegetable-infused water provides more flavor and actually may add some nutrients to your water. Use a water bottle you enjoy using, and carry it with you wherever you go, and you will be more motivated to drink as much as you need to. Splash water on your face regularly and make sure you shower daily and scrub with a brush or loofah to remove dirt and toxins from your skin.
2.) Eat Clean Foods
Eating more cleanly can detox your body in a healthy way, as well as help with weight loss or weight management. Stop eating packaged and frozen foods and foods with added preservatives and other chemicals, and switch to organic, whole, and fresh foods. Get most of your produce fresh or purchase it frozen, but without any additives. Make as much of your meals from scratch as possible instead of using boxed or canned ingredients. Eat a wide variety of healthy fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits, leafy greens, broccoli, radishes, beets, and figs. When eating meat, try to find locally farmed meat that isn’t fed any hormones or antibiotics. Grass-fed meats are best for you – and for the environment.
3.) Get Plenty of Vitamin C
You need to consume the appropriate nutrients to cleanse yourself properly and detoxify your body, but one of the most important nutrients to have is vitamin C. This works to cleanse your body, especially your liver and colon. Vitamin C can also help to fight off illnesses like colds and the flu. Vitamin C is naturally occurring in citrus fruits, such as grapefruit, lemons, limes, and oranges. Some vegetables also contain small amounts of vitamin C.
4.) Detox Your Skin
Your skin is your largest organ – and of course, it is the one that is most exposed to the environment around you. It stands to reason that your skin should get some special care during a detox. Start by using as many natural and organic skin care products and cosmetics as you can, avoiding those with harsh additives and chemicals. Use a dry skin brush on your body each day before you get into the shower or bath. Take a detox bath at least once a week, and use only 100% natural soaps and moisturizers.
