5 Relaxing Essential Oils To Help You Sleep

Fall asleep more quickly and easily, and stay asleep longer with these dreamy essential oils.

Sleep is an essential ingredient for good health, but for some it is elusive.  Getting enough rest will allow you to function to the best of your ability the next day – it is essential to proper functioning of both your body and mind.

There are many reasons why people have trouble sleeping.  Many aren’t sure why, but for others, it could simply be working too hard, or putting too much pressure on yourself to perform. You may also be preoccupied with thoughts of things you need to get done, which revs up your brain even if it is time to go to sleep. This can lead to not getting enough sleep because you’re worrying about other things.

There are many different negative effects of sleep deprivation. One major way that lack of sleep affects your health is by weakening your immune system, which can leave you more susceptible to illness and disease.

Another way it could affect you is that you may feel like you’re drained and have trouble concentrating.  This causes you to be unproductive.

As you can see, getting the right amount of sleep is very important for all aspects of your life. If you’re having trouble sleeping, using essential oils may help. Here are 5 to try:

1.) Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is well known for helping to relax your mind so you can drift off into dreamland. It can also help with mood swings, and may help relieve stress. This is a great one to start with if you have trouble relaxing at night and falling asleep.

2.) Cedarwood Oil

The earthy, woodsy aroma of cedarwood essential oil will help to soothe you and relax you before sleep. It also goes well with many other essential oils, including lavender, so you can make your own essential oil mixture to diffuse in your bedroom depending on what scents you enjoy.

3.) Sandalwood Oil

Sandalwood oil is another essential oil that has soothing benefits and may help you drift off to sleep more easily. Go easy with sandalwood oil, as it has a very strong scent that you may need to get used to.

4.) Roman Chamomile Oil
